The Best Baby Furniture And Decor As Seen At Prego Expo LA

Real Estate

Most baby furniture and decor is meant to be functional, but certainly not always stylish. So oftentimes designed-inclined parents are forced to choose between what reflects their own aesthetic and what’s best for the baby. Fortunately, it looks like many brands are starting to recognize this dilemma and are now creating everything from pack and plays to bassinets and rockers that don’t look entirely out of place in an adult living room.

This was very apparent at the Prego Expo LA which took place on November 6, 2022. Prego Expo holds annual in-person events in several cities as well as virtual expos every year. The Los Angeles event featured a variety of exhibitors from both established and emerging brands—showcasing their latest and greatest innovations in every category from food, to gadgets and services, but especially home and nursery. While there was plenty of classic cute—it’s clear that baby furniture design is becoming heavily influenced by modern and contemporary aesthetics that please moms and dads. Here are some of the best products spotted for the home.

Babyletto

All babies need cribs and no one makes more stylish ones than Babyletto and its parent company, Million Dollar Baby. The expo was a prime opportunity to showcase its latest offerings including the Yuzu 8-in-1 Convertible All-Stages Crib. This crib can convert from a bassinet to a midi and a full-sized crib with toddler and daybed options. A wise investment, it can be used from newborn to five years old. This crib also comes with all the necessary conversion pieces.

With a timeless minimalist design, it is available in White, Natural, and Natural Walnut. Best of all, the Yuzu 8-in-1 Convertible All-Stages Crib is Greenguard Gold certified, making it one of the safest choices on the market. Products that achieve this certification are tested for more than 10000 chemical emissions and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

While this crib was launched in November 2022, it’s bound to be one of the most popular choices for 2023 babies.

Nook

If there is one item no baby can go without, it’s a crib mattress. Nook’s Organic Pure Crib Mattress is one of the safest on the market. Greenguard Gold Certified (as all of Nook’s products are), these mattresses are made from organic coconut coir, natural rubber tree latex, and organic wool. Nook’s patented pebble design increases the airflow around your baby, optimizing the amount of oxygen they get while sleeping. Mini and oval-shaped mattresses are available as well.

All mattresses come with a choice of breathable covers in white, pink, or blue. The fabric is made from Oeko-Tex certified Tencel and Lyocell non-toxic polyester.

Every Nook product is also free of flame retardants. The Organic Pure Crib Mattress contains wool which is naturally flame resistant, while the other mattresses use a natural silica-based fabric that provides a fire barrier without chemicals or glass.

Nuna

While Nuna is best known for its strollers and car seats, the brand’s furniture line is not only as smartly designed, but it’s also stylish. One of Nuna’s best offerings showcased at the event was the Leaf Grow Baby Seat And Rocker. Sold exclusively at Pottery Barn Kids, it’s a chic and modern piece parents won’t mind keeping in their living room. There are also nine different organic GOTS-certified fabric inserts to compliment any space including solids such as Camel and Driftwood to on-trend broken arrow prints. It also includes an adorable mobile to keep babies entertained. This rocker can be used from infant to toddler and is motor free.

Uppababy

Uppababy has become one of the hottest brands in recent years. Their home products are just as innovative as their strollers, especially the Remi, which was on display. Smartly designed, this modern piece is a bedside bassinet, travel crib, and portable play space all in one. Greenguard Gold Certified, the Remi includes a mesh bassinet and triple-layer mattress, making it a great value. It’s also an ideal choice for parents who live in smaller spaces or need a solution they can take with them on the go.

In terms of design, this is also one of the best choices. There’s a choice of four different fabrics in charcoal, sand, grey, and navy hues. Not sure what color will be best? Uppababy can provide fabric swatches.

Chicco

Baby products can be expensive but Chicco has made style and function available at truly great prices such as the LullaGo Anywhere LE Portable Bassinet. Costing under $140, this bassinet has a chic contemporary vibe with angeled wood grain finish metal legs. Made in grey and taupe colors, this is an easy choice for parents on a budget who want something stylish for their nursery.

With zip-off fabrics, it’s also easy to clean and like many options costing two or three times as much, is Greenguard Gold Certified. A waterproof mattress and fitted sheet are included, as is a convenient travel bag.

Ubbi

There’s nothing worse than a nursery that smells like diapers. Luckily, Ubbi is there to bring style to diaper disposal. Ubbi Diaper Pails are available in colors and designs meant to complement any nursery with finish options including solids such as blush and sage, marble, woodgrain, and even a fun rainbow print being launched in 2023.

Ubbi’s pails are made of steel as opposed to plastic, which can absorb that unpleasant used diaper odor. It also doesn’t require special bags. There’s even a child safety lock so little hands don’t end up creating a big mess.

Crane Baby

Decorating a nursery can be a challenge but Crane Baby takes out the guesswork with curated collections to help parents mix and match. Each collection has different pieces to property accessorize with coordinating essentials including sheets, swaddles, rugs, wallpaper, and toys, depending on the collection. While all the designs are true winners, the Parker set is ideal for any girl’s nursery with its sweet flower print, while the Caspian collection has a cool boho edge for boys.
